Saturday, Berakas Sports Complex, Squadra squared off against a family team. Supree's F30 had a scoring debut when he opened the floodgate with a composed finish after beating two defenders on the way. Shortly after, Emy scored one of his two goals with and exquisite top corner placement from the edge of the box.
Fadzil's run from the right flank was picked out by Supree and produced a straightforward goal for Squadra. Emy added another when he tapped in a corner kick flicked by Khalid.
Second half saw several changes made : Awang for Adi, Bob for Elmy, Keegun for Emy and Aziz for Hafiz. The opponent scored a fluked goal when a cross turned into a shot leaving Fizan flat-footed. Squadra responded when Khalid's determination forced the defender to make a mistake and won posession before scoring. The opponent scored another consolation goal from a headed corner kick into the top corner of the goalpost.
Squadra saved the best goal for last when Keegun saw the goalie off the line and from a distant difficult angle chipped the ball into the net.
Another positive sight on the night for the team is that Squadra 7 Jnr, Hakimin - at the age of 2 years 8 months and 22 days - have scored his first unofficial goal in an official Squadra shirt during half-time. Surely there will be more where those come from...
